VFRS-I101 EVOC Instructor - 3 Day Event
Lead Instructors: Gary Dalton, VAFR EVOC Coordinator, Bubby Bish, VAFR Exeuctive Directionr/EVOC Coordinator, Doug Eberhardt, VAFR Training Coordinator
Designed for providers who completed Basic EVOC and wish to transition into instructional roles. Covers instructional methods, safe operations, and DOT-modeled EVOC teaching practices.
Location: The Inn at Virginia Tech-Smithfield
Dates: June 18, June 19 and June 20, 2026 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM
Prerequisites:
- 21 years of age or older
- Hold valid and current VAFR or VDFP EVOC certification that was issued during the past five years.
- Be certified in basic EVOC for at least one year
- Active first responder for at least three (3) years
- A member of a VAFR Agency or a VAFR Individual Member
- Maintain a current Virginia Operator’s License**
- Submit a copy of their Virginia driving record not more than 30 days prior to course
- Submit copy of certificate from the VAFR Methods of Instruction class (or accepted equivalent)
- Have a certificate proving attendance in a valid TIMS (Traffic Incident Management System) Course.
