VFRS-EMS120 EMS Officer I (2 Day Program)

Location: The Inn at Virginia Tech – Latham D-E-F
Date/Time: June 14, and June 15, 2026 – 8:00 AM until 5:30 PM
EMS Officer 1 prepares emerging leaders to manage day-to-day operations, personnel issues, safety, quality improvement, and community relationships. The course blends online pre-work with classroom discussion and practical leadership tools tailored to EMS agencies.
Prerequisites: Age: 18+. Participants must hold a current Virginia Certification of EMT or higher / No corrective action from EMS Agency, OMD, or OEMS / Submit copies of NIMS 100, 200, 700, 800 certificates or FEMA/VDFP Transcript / Review all online video presentations / Complete all homework assignments prior to cl ass /Bring a computer/tablet with internet capability to class.
